Happy National Hummingbird Day!

The name hummingbird comes from the sound that their wings make because they beat so fast. They are the only birds that can fly backwards!

There are approximately 360 species of hummingbird in North and South America, and range from 2.0g (the bee hummingbird) to 24.0g (the giant hummingbird) in size.
